From desert ridges to city laneways, I follow curiosity—painting, photographing, and shaping creative direction.

Lelliott is a creative director and artist whose career bridges fine art and commercial innovation—always from a distinctly eclectic perspective. Whether painting during desert immersions, documenting subcultures across continents, or building global brands, his images are expertly crafted and imaginatively alive.

Lelliott brings a fine-art eye to brands—refined over three decades of painting, photographing, and building campaigns that connect creative instinct with real-world impact.

Early Inspiration and Artistic Foundation

Raised with the salt air and sketchpad never far away, Lelliott began drawing and photographing at age five. Classically trained at Melbourne University’s Victorian College of the Arts, he brings a fine art sensibility to every project—blending art into design, design into brand, and creativity into strategy. As a founder of several small businesses, he understands firsthand the challenges consumer brands face—from communications and content to sales, inventory, and production.

A Journey Defined by Experience

From photographing music royalty at celebrity parties in West Hollywood to documenting the Tokyo underground, from riding motorcycles across desert landscapes to quiet days on his farm—Lelliott’s career defies categorisation. This breadth of lived experience infuses his work with rare perspective and emotional depth.

Art with Purpose: Connection and Yearning

Increasingly, Lelliott’s artwork brings together diverse influences, mark-making styles, and archival photography to explore universal themes of connection, desire, and resilience. At its core, the work asks how we stay human—revealing that everything is in relationship, and no one is ever fully alone.

Creative Direction and Commercial Impact

With a background spanning global creative direction, storytelling, product innovation, and hands-on content creation, Lelliott brings a uniquely integrated approach to every brief. From founding and scaling disruptive brands like Saint Unbreakable, to shaping identity and execution for industry leaders like SKINS, Knog, and Crumpler, he consistently delivers breakthrough results across FMCG, apparel, fintech, and consumer products.

A Fusion of Artistry and Strategy

Blending fine art sensibility with strategic clarity, Lelliott crafts campaigns, products, and experiences that challenge convention and unlock new potential. Whether collaborating with global creative teams, launching world-first products, or guiding brands from idea to launch, his work is defined by curiosity, connection, and a drive to turn bold ideas into meaningful commercial success.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

“Lelliott is a strong entrepreneur and remarkable creative, who has a rare ability to find sparks forging new brands and products that resonate.”

— Andy Fallshaw / Bellroy

“Lelliott is a great entrepreneur in the motorcycle denim world, very passionate about what he is doing and driven by personal believe. I worked very closely with Michael when he was at SAINT, to introduce a revolutionary new single layer protective denim with Dyneema® into the market. It was Michael’s personal dream to develop a comfortable, all-day wearable Jeans that at the same time protects you when you fall. His clear objectives of what he wanted combined with his open and honest communication and feedback made it very pleasant and effective to work with Michael. While SAINT was a new brand in the motorcycle market, thanks to Michael and the rest of the SAINT team, they managed to make a big impact in the market in a very short time with a great product, great product name and with great promotion”
